To offer a different path to personal growth, self discovery, and the development of essential life skills outside the traditional therapy office.

our

We provide innovative opportunities for people to learn and experience new skills to use in their daily life. We create experiences for self-empowerment. We respect and celebrate the role nature and all beings contribute to healing. We bring a sense of playfulness to our work.

UNIQUE APPROACH

What are Therapeutic Skills?

At Healing Journeys, we incorporate skills from a variety of therapeutic techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT).

Taking a trip with Healing Journeys won’t involve reprocessing traumatic memories. Instead, you’ll learn new skills that incorporate therapeutic techniques that you can access to self-soothe and ground at any time.

What is Animal-Assisted Therapy?

Animal-assisted therapy is a method of therapy that relies on the intrinsic bond between humans and animals to create an environment that fosters dialogue, emotional growth, and behavioral changes.

What is Trauma-Conscious Yoga?

Trauma-conscious yoga is a way of practicing that recognizes and honors that everyone arrives to the mat with different lived experiences. Every pose is an invitation. Yoga provides the opportunity to notice what is happening in the body and mind with each pose, which can translate into a new awareness of the body and mind off the mat.

Throughout your trip, you’ll have several opportunities to participate in this type of yoga practice, whether that be morning yoga to stretch before you head out with your team or to wind down in the evening after dinner.
